Kids of all ages and experience levels can learn to use analytical and critical thinking skills to improve performance on the field.

  • Peach Racer

    Learn to code an old school arcade game by completing tutorials that create a side-scrolling racing game with obstacles to overcome. Participants have an opportunity to customize this game by designing their own background scene, sprites, and obstacles!

    Step Counter 3000

    Turn your micro:bit into a step counter (or pedometer) to help you see how active you are, while measuring how many steps you take how many steps you take - and learn some coding at the same time! Don’t have a micro:bit ? You can still practice your block coding skills by using MakeCode.

  • Minecraft Financial Literacy

    Financial literacy is important for everyone, including athletes! In this activity players earn a passive income that can be saved, or used to purchase a variety of in-game items. Decide to spend it all in the shopping plaza on things like clothes or save and make a large-scale purchase like a home or car.

  • Throw Counter 3000

    In this basketball-themed coding activity, participants will develop and create their own throw counter. Using the micro:bit, a pocket-sized computer, participants will learn how to to track how many throws they make on net against a ticking shotclock to measure their accuracy.

  • Coded Dunk Challenge

    Using the Microsoft MakeCode Arcade's block-based code editor, you will help your player avoid pylons until the clock runs out, at which point you'll finish with a stylish dunk! Even if you're new to coding, our tutorial guides you through the whole activity so you can make your own creative dunk!

  • Cardio Pace

    Use your coding skills with this activity! Use the MakeCode Editor to try out Box Breathing and create your own heart rate monitor with the micro:bit. Test out your heart health by exercising then coming back to your monitor and looking at the difference with a graph that displays your results.

  • Jump into STEM

    Looking for an unplugged and active session? These activity guides run through some basketball themed warm up games and drills that demonstrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math principles in a fun and creative way. The activities are easy to follow and require minimal set-up.
